Scanned documents can contain pages in the wrong orientation. Rotating the pages before sharing makes the document easier to read and can prevent problems when it is printed or submitted.
Check whether the whole document needs the same orientation
Open the source PDF and look at the first, middle and last pages. ToolVero’s Rotate PDF applies the chosen angle to every page. If only one page is sideways, this whole-document tool will also change the others. Keep the original and choose a page-level editor for mixed orientations.
Rotate and save a copy
- Select the PDF in the tool.
- Choose 90, 180 or 270 degrees. Try 180 degrees for a document that is upside down. For a sideways document, choose the quarter turn that makes the text upright.
- Press Rotate & Download and open the downloaded
rotated.pdf.
The selected angle is written as the page rotation in the new file. If a source PDF already has page rotation, the selected angle replaces that setting; it is not added to it. Test a copy before applying a second turn.
Check the saved PDF
Review several pages and print a test page if printing matters. Verify reading direction, page order, page dimensions and text visibility. Rotation changes the viewing orientation; it does not repair a sideways image embedded on an otherwise upright page or add searchable text to a scan.
When extraction helps
If you only need selected pages, extract those pages into a separate copy. The Rotate PDF tool will still apply one angle to every page in that copy. To mix rotated and unrotated pages in one final document, use a page-level editor and review the result.
Common mistakes
- Only one bad page: do not rotate the whole document; use a page-level editor.
- Image is sideways within the page: changing PDF page rotation may leave that embedded image sideways.
- Already rotated source: check the downloaded file, because the selected angle sets the new page rotation.
- Signed or interactive PDF: copying and saving pages may affect signatures, forms, bookmarks or attachments. Verify these before sending.
Frequently asked questions
Does rotation change the PDF content?
It changes the PDF page rotation value. It does not correct OCR, edit words, or rotate an embedded image independently of its page. Check the output in a PDF viewer.
Can I rotate only one page?
Not with ToolVero’s current Rotate PDF tool: it applies the same angle to all pages. Use a page-level editor for a single page or mixed page orientations.
