Open Delete Selected PDF Pages and Review What Remains
Worked example: remove pages 2, 4 and 5
Download the six-page practice PDF. Each page has its original number printed on it, so you can verify both the selection and output order.
- Choose the practice PDF in the tool.
- Enter
2,4-5in Pages to remove. - Select Review selection. The planned output should contain three pages: 1, 3, 6.
- Select Delete pages, then Download PDF. Open it and compare the printed original page numbers.

Download the matching three-page output.
Page positions and range rules
Count from the first PDF page, including covers: page position 1 may not have the printed label “1”. Use whole numbers and ascending ranges separated by commas. On this sample, 7, 0, 5-2 and 1,,3 are invalid. Repeated numbers are included once. The tool reports invalid entries before generating output.
Remaining pages retain their original order. Entering 5,2,4 removes the same three pages as 2,4-5. At least one page must remain. Deleting a page is not secure redaction of sensitive material elsewhere in the PDF.
Delete, extract or redact?
Delete pages when the entire page should be removed. Use Extract PDF Pages when it is easier to name the pages you want to keep. If private information appears on a page you need to retain, page deletion does not redact that information; a visual white-out is also not secure redaction.
Check the downloaded copy
The original remains on your device. Confirm the page count, text, images and order before sharing the new file. Editing invalidates digital signatures. Extraction may omit document-level forms, bookmarks or attachments. Protected or malformed PDFs may fail; use a readable copy you are authorized to edit.

Delete pages online: choose removal or extraction
Use Delete PDF Pages when the unwanted list is shorter: to keep pages 1, 3 and 6 in a six-page document, remove 2,4-5. Use Extract PDF Pages when it is easier to list what you need, such as 1,3,6.
Deleting a blank-looking page can remove content you did not notice. Open it at a readable zoom first, then check the remaining document after export. The tool’s review step shows page numbers and the planned output order, not a visual thumbnail gallery.
Separate pages instead of deleting them
Removing pages creates one shorter document. If your goal is to separate a report into several files, follow the split PDF guide. Do not delete pages from your only copy to build separate documents.
