Does cleaning PDF metadata remove all private information?
No. ToolVero PDF Metadata Editor can clear common document properties such as author and title, but this is not comprehensive anonymization. Inspect the visible pages, attachments and other hidden information separately, then check the exported copy after any further editing.
Important limit: A name printed on a page remains after clearing the Author field. Metadata cleanup is not redaction and does not certify that a document is safe to publish.

PDF metadata is information about a document rather than its visible pages. Common fields include title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer. Cleaning those fields may reduce accidental disclosure, but it is not comprehensive anonymization.
Inspect before changing anything
Open PDF Metadata Editor, choose a copy of the file and select Read Metadata. Review each displayed field. A draft report, for example, may expose an internal author name or working title even though the cover page shows only a public title.
Edit or clean the common fields
To replace details, enter the intended title, author, subject, keywords, creator or producer and select Save Metadata. To remove common document-property fields from a new copy, select Clean Metadata. Download the result, reopen it and inspect the properties again. Be deliberate: clearing author information may be inappropriate where attribution is needed.
What cleaning does not cover
Metadata can exist in more places than the fields shown here: XMP packets, embedded files, annotations, form data, hidden layers and the content of the pages themselves. This tool targets common fields, not every possible trace. A person's name printed in the PDF will not vanish when you clear the Author field. For sensitive material, inspect every page and attachment using a suitable document review process.
Think about later editing
Other PDF software may add creator or producer information again when saving a file. If you compress, combine or otherwise rewrite the cleaned output, inspect its properties one more time before sending it. Keep an unmodified source for your records, particularly if metadata is needed for provenance or recordkeeping.
ToolVero performs this operation in your browser rather than sending the selected PDF to a ToolVero processing server. A public PDF library may still be downloaded. For page-level removal, see Delete PDF Pages; for protecting access to the exported copy, see Protect PDF.
