What local browser processing means
In a browser-based workflow, JavaScript or WebAssembly running on your device reads the file and creates the result locally. For ToolVero tools marked Private browser processing, the selected file does not need to be sent to a ToolVero file-processing server for the operation itself.
Local processing does not mean “no network connections”
A page can still load JavaScript libraries, fonts, analytics, advertising services or other assets over the network. That is different from uploading the selected PDF for server-side processing. This distinction is why ToolVero avoids using “private” as a blanket claim without an implementation explanation.
Third-party libraries matter
Some PDF tasks depend on libraries loaded from public CDNs. Those connections can reveal normal web-request information to the CDN, even when the selected document remains in browser memory. If your document is highly sensitive, you should consider the entire page environment, not only whether the file-processing step is local.
What users can check
- Read the tool's privacy and limitations section.
- Review the site's Privacy Center.
- For advanced verification, browser developer tools can show network requests made while a page is open.
- Avoid entering passwords, authentication codes, private keys or other secrets unless the tool genuinely requires them and you understand the workflow.
Why ToolVero documents limits
Privacy claims become misleading when they outlive the implementation. ToolVero's stated approach is to update the explanation if a future feature changes from local to server-side processing rather than continuing to display an outdated local-processing claim.
